Cakes sent to our Frontline Workers – Williams Homes help boost morale
Simple acts of kindness – Williams Homes help boost morale
In these times, it is simple acts of kindness that can make all the difference. This has certainly been shown by one of ClwydAlyn’s development partners, Williams Homes, who have been making and donating cakes to some of our frontline workers during the two periods of lockdown to date.
Williams Homes is a family business based in Bala, and builds low carbon, high quality timber frame homes across North and Mid Wales. They also run two restaurants, which have had to close during the lockdown periods. The staff working there were furloughed, and it was at this point that their chefs started to volunteer their time to make the delicious cakes, which were safely delivered to ClwydAlyn by some of Williams Homes’ management team.
They have been delivering the cakes to our frontline staff working in our care homes and services for homeless people that operate 24/7. This generous gesture has been appreciated across the organisation. In addition to the six-week period in the first lockdown, they have begun delivering again in the current one, as a thank you to staff in our 24/7 services for going the extra mile in these challenging times.
Owain Williams, Joint MD at Williams Homes commented: “We are delighted to be involved in this collaboration with ClwydAlyn. It is humbling to play just a small part in bringing a little happiness and recognition to the hard working teams providing 24/7 support in ClwydAlyn’s care homes and services for homeless people.”
Ed Hughes, Director of Care and Support for ClwydAlyn said: “A big thank you to Williams Homes and their chefs for their hard work in boosting morale and giving us an uplifting and feelgood story for the beginning of the year. We all hope that 2021 sees a way through the pandemic, and gestures such as this consolidate that hope and highlight the kindnesses shown by so many people in our communities right now.”
