Coronavirus Updates

We'll be updating this section of our website regarding information to residents and our services affected by Coronavirus.

09 November 2020

On Monday 9th November the Firebreak in Wales will come to an end allowing ClwydAlyn to revert back to phase two of its Recovery Plan. All essential services within trades, housing, supported living and care will continue, alongside the guidance we are following on safe ways of working.

To read the government’s frequently asked questions following the recent firebreak please click here.

All essential services within Assets and Maintenance will continue where safe to do so, and we will continue to monitor the on-going situation and review our Recovery Plan as appropriate.

Our approach and service remain:

Safety First – We will only access homes to undertake repairs where it is safe for our residents and staff. We will ask all residents to complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire before any work takes place and residents will be asked to help provide a safe environment for all.

We are currently in phase two of our recovery repair plan.

  • Emergency and essential work will take priority, these are things that could affect residents’ health or the structure of the building.
  • Compliance work such as gas inspections etc.
  • Non-Essential work (general repairs) that are safe to undertake – up to 2hrs, potentially longer but only if it is safe to do so.
  • External work and work in communal areas
  • Planned kitchen and bathrooms (low risk properties have been identified to trial this work)

We trust you to help us to carry out work safely in your property. Our safety first pledge protects both you and our staff and we take your safety seriously. If the pledge is broken, we will leave the property and won’t be able to complete the work. To download our safety first pledge please click here. Please take a minute to watch our safety first video.

Should you have any enquiries or wish to discuss any works to your home at this time please contact us on 0800 1835757.

COVID-19 Update on ClwydAlyn services during Welsh Firebreak

22nd October 2020

Wales will go into a short, sharp national lockdown from Friday 23rd October at 6pm until Monday 9th October. First Minister Mark Drakeford said the "time-limited firebreak" would be "a short, sharp, shock to turn back the clock, slow down the virus and buy us more time. Without action the NHS would not be able to cope.”

The health and wellbeing of our residents and staff remains our number one priority during this time. We are making the necessary adjustments to the services we provide to ensure we continue to meet all government guidelines and keep everyone safe. All essential services within trades, housing, supported living and care will continue, alongside the guidance we are following on safe ways of working.

Unfortunately, there will be no visitors allowed in our care homes, and once again we are closing the restaurants in our Care and Extra Care homes, please liaise with your Care Home Manager for further details.

All essential services within Assets and Maintenance will continue where safe to do so and if residents are happy for us to continue as planned. We will not be able to undertake any of our planned kitchen and bathroom work during this period (unless work has already started), our team will be in touch to rearrange any appointments affected. If you have any questions or wish to discuss any works to your home, then please contact us on 0800 1835757.

  • Planned Window & Door Programme (unless a security risk)
